FAQ
FAQ
Do I need a consultation?
Yes, for all therapies & treatments, I require a consultation form to be filled in - don't worry I offer a quick online option if you would prefer but it enables me to make sure I can treat you safely, it is important for my insurance so that I am looking after clients and it allows me to tailor a treatment to your needs. All consultations and any information shared with me is held in the strictest confidence.
Are you registered with a professional body?
Yes, I am a member of the National Register of Reflexologists Ireland (M.N.R.R.I. - see more here) and this provides assurance to my clients that I hold my diploma qualification and that I treat in accordance with their professional standards of excellence and within their code of ethics. My diplomas in both Reflexology and Holistic Massage are with ITEC. ITEC qualifications are globally recognised and respected, providing assurance of quality and competence to clients. I also hold therapist's insurance for the benefit of my clients and myself.
How long will the appointment be?
Each appointment will vary in time depending on the treatment, the booking page will have information on with actual hands-on treatment time and the appointment slot will also have extra time for your arrival and greeting plus your aftercare. Contact me directly if you have any questions.
Is there anything I need to do before or after an appointment?
It's a good idea to not eat anything heavy before you arrive. Please do not consume alcohol beforehand. It is always recommended not to drink alcohol afterwards. I will give you full aftercare advice after each appointment based on the treatment that you have had.
Should I come with/without makeup?
For all my facial treatments, hot towel cleansing is included as part of the routine, so if you arrive with makeup that's no problem at all, just be aware that your makeup will be removed as part of the treatment, except for facial reflexology as I also include a hot towel cleanse but if you need to have your makeup intact afterwards I can adapt the treatment for you.
Can I have a treatment with existing medical conditions?
A lot of my therapies/treatments are suitable for anyone but there are some reasons why I cannot offer particular sessions depending on what your history is (contraindications) and the consultation will form the basis of my recommendations - you can send me a message to check anything specific though.
Can I claim money back on my Health Insurance?
I am fully qualified and registered with the National Register of Reflexologist Ireland (see their site here) so If your insurance has an allowance for reflexology (this covers feet, face & cranial) then I can provide you with a receipt to allow you to claim with all major providers in Ireland including HSF, Level Health, Laya, VHI, Irish Life Health & Westfield Health.
Can you diagnose health conditions?
No. I hold a diploma in Anatomy & Physiology but reflexologists are not medically trained. If you are feeling unwell you should seek advice from a medical expert, however reflexology can help with certain ailments and conditions once they are diagnosed.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel your appointment, please make sure you do it 24 hours in advance - I am a small business owner and this really helps me plan my diary and offer appointments to other clients who may be waiting. If you cancel with me less than 24 hours in advance, I charge 50% of the appointment fee. If you do not cancel and fail to show up your full payment will be taken.
When might I not be able to have a treatment on the day?
If you are booked in for a treatment and you have experienced an injury, sunburn, have a sudden onset of illness including a fever, please contact me as soon as possible. If you have a contagious condition, infection or virus such as athletes foot, warts or verruca, cold sores, please contact me in advance of your appointment so I can assess and offer you the best options for treatment.
What age range can you treat?
For holistic therapies there are no age limits, if you book an appointment for anyone under the age of 16 I ask that a parent/Guardian be present in the treatment room for the full duration.
What if I'm late for my treatment?
Firstly, please don't panic and feel stressed, this happens to everyone sometimes! Depending on how late you are, I will give you the maximum time I can to perform a full routine, but if I have another client booked in then I may need to adapt the treatment to suit the remaining time that you have booked with me.
